Korean Wave fondly called as K-wave by the whole world may be explained as a word that is referring the increasing degree of rise in popularity of Korean culture since the year 1990. The origin of this Korean wave can be sensed from the increased popularity of Korean Drama (k-drama) throughout the Asian continent. After this popularity slowly Korean dramas evolved as a global phenomenon. Another contributor of this k-wave is the Korean pop music which succeeded in the YouTube to create a popular culture.
However k-wave started to gain its attain only after 1990s the Korean dramas were produced at the early 1960’s.but the format available today called as mini-deurama or mini-series originated only in the 1990’s. According to this format the complete drama (I mean the film series here) is covered within 12 to 24 episodes. This kind of format is different from the soap operas. Soap operas are also a kind of television film series which got the name as it was sponsored by soap manufacturers in the early times.
The traditional saguek series may contain a different kind of language and may extended even up to 200 episodes because it is a need to cover every single minute detail while dealing with historical subjects. A modern approach called fusion saguek is also introduced in which the modern drama making techniques are extensively used in shooting a saguek series. But the contemporary series is often made in the modern settings with limited number of episodes.
